Mobile Scanner Models to use with AssetTrack

We have an internal client that we're working to onboard to AssetTrack and they currently utilize the HC1 handheld. They like the integrated unit (vs separate PC and dongled scanner) and would like to retain that functionality in a device compatible with AssetTrack. We cannot use the AT4 client on BYOD as we don't have much BYOD at the firm.

We do have the MC9090 minicomputer scanners at the datacenters from our original implementation. While we have a dongled 2D solution in the PC space. AMI has suggested the MC9200 (evolution of the 9090) or the TC70/75 product.

Wanted to see if anyone out there has used (to any degree) the 9200 or the TC series and has any feedback on pros / cons of those devices against each other and against inventory activity in general that would help us understand what would work in our circumstances.

We are a bit more than midway through a hardware upgrade from (Old) MC9090 devices to Zebra's TC70.  We've deployed about 200 of these devices with great success.  They are configured to run on our proprietary wifi domain based on our I.T. Security policies.  The only drawback we have encountered, currently, is availability of that particular restricted wifi signal.  That is solely an internal limitation of our network.  However, it has caused us to look into the TC75 - with cell service as a potential 'enhancement'.  That said - the move from Asset Track v3 to current version is a huge benefit in productivity.

Jeff,

Are you using the TC70 solely for barcode scanning or also doing RF scanning through an add-on antenna? If so, which RF add-on did you use?

Thanks for posting, helpful to hear that someone has found value in the move in real life!

Solely Barcode scanning.  Our org has yet to develop the appetite for RF.  ....Yet (one can hope)

But as to 'value' - we are enjoying this sequel.  Our compliance/adoption rate has jumped by better than 15% with the addition of a more modern, mobile tool.  We're anticipating a gross volume of over 75,000 status update transactions this year.  And that is outside/above our purchase order integration.

We are using the MC75A with over 1M transactions a year.  We are hoping to move to the TC70s as well late this year or early next, and looking at the RFID possibility as well.
